Dear participant,
The ESCV2016 Organising Committee would like to inform you that all the accepted abstracts will be included in the ESCV2016 Abstract Book, which will be published as a supplement issue to Journal of Clinical Virology. Therefore, please take into account the following instructions which are mandatory for submitting the abstracts for publishing.

Instructions for submitting the abstracts:

1) General style and format:

• Oral communication or Poster presentation
(Oral communications: 10 minutes each - 8 minutes for the presentation and 2 minutes for the discussion)
• Font: Times New Roman
• Font size: 11
• Text alignment: Justify
• Line spacing: single
• Maximum of 3500 characters per abstract

2) Abstract Title:

• Sentence case (only the first word of the title should be in capitals)
• Maximum of 200 characters

3) Author name(s) and affiliation(s):

• First Name(s): Initials of the first name followed by a dot
• Last name: Sentence case
• Affiliation(s):
• Sentence case.
• An affiliation should consist at least of a country name.

4) Please use open lines between paragraphs

5) Headings:

• Please use headings if applicable only.
• Please use boldface for headings and put the colon in bold too.
• If the headings comprise multiple entities, use a starting capital for each entity (e.g. Material and Methods:). If the heading comprises multiple words but only one entity, only the first word has a capital (e.g. Preliminary results:).
• If there are subheadings, please use italics for those.

6) Citations/references:

If numbers are used, put them on the line in brackets and before punctuation [1].

7) Email address of the abstract submission must be the same used on the registration on the conference.

8) Authors are responsible for editing, printing and bringing their posters to the conference (A0 Portrait format)

Practical Information

All the accepted scientific abstracts (oral and posters) will be included in the ESCV2016 Abstract Book, which will be published by Elsevier as a supplement issue to Journal of Clinical Virology. They will also be available in a flip book provided by Elsevier.

A) Oral Communications

Oral communications of the keynote/invited speakers shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes each: 25 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for the discussion.

The selected oral communications shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes each: 8 minutes for the presentation and 2 minutes for the discussion.

B) Posters Sessions

Posters size: Standard A0 size (portrait orientation) - 84cm (Width) x 118cm (Height). Posters should not exceed these measures.

Poster number: A number is assigned to each poster. The boards to fix the posters is identified with the posters numbers. A list with the posters and the appropriate numbers will be available onsite. Please fix your poster according to its number.

Posters will be displayed on poster boards. The material to fix the posters will be provided onsite by the organisation.

Poster location: Posters will be displayed on boards in the "Roma" Room, on the 1st floor of the hotel where the conference will take place.

Mounting and removing of posters: Please follow the schedule outlining times for mounting and removing your poster. The organisation of the conference cannot mount or remove the posters. Posters that are not removed by the designated time may be disposed of.



There are two poster viewing sessions and a total of 246 posters.
The display of the posters will be divided as follow:


Posters will be available in the afternoon of the 14th and on the 15th September (during the conference time).

We kindly ask authors/participants to bring your posters and fix them on the 14th September 2016, from 12:00 to 13:00. Please remove your posters on the 15th September 2016, until 19:45.

Posters will be available on the 16th and in the morning of the 17th September (during the conference time).
